Stacy Smith
CEO
With 5 years in the healthcare industry and over 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, Stacy is a seasoned leader and expert in workplace safety and training, safety management systems, and process improvement. She is currently the President at Smith Safety Services, LLC. and Legacy Workforce Development, companies that provide customized training and consulting services to help organizations enhance safety culture, performance, and compliance. Stacy is also the company owner, overseeing the strategic direction, operations, and partnerships of the businesses. She has a proven track record of delivering innovative and effective safety solutions to clients, such as US Well Services, where she held various senior roles, including Vice President of Health, Safety, Enviromental, Training and DOT. She is passionate about empowering and developing her team, and clients, and is committed to creating a positive and lasting impact in workforce development, workforce enhancement training, and the safety field. Stacy and her team bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the table, and the team is eager to learn and grow.
Jon Novak
Training & Development Manager
Jon is the Training and Development Manager for Legacy Workforce Development. He is responsible for managing, developing, and implementing training programs for Legacy Workforce Development and their clients. Jon is also responsible for managing all aspects of training-related operations.
Jon comes to Legacy Workforce Development with extensive technical experience. He received a diploma in welding in 2008 from Hobart Institute of Welding Technology and he has his Class A CDL with tanker, HazMat, and Doubles/Triples endorsement. He has over 10 years of combined training and management experience in the oil and gas industry. Prior to taking the Training and Development Manager role, Jon was the Director of Training for a hydraulic fracturing company, where he was responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the training needs for all employees in several locations across the US. He was involved in the formation of SOPs, assisted with safety investigations, and developed corrective actions for field accidents. He has held different roles in training since 2011 and is an IBCT-certified Associate Trainer. Jon’s experience and knowledge is an asset to Legacy Workforce Development.
William "Willy" Weese
Commercial Driver Trainer
William “Willy” Weese is a Commercial Driver Trainer at Legacy Workforce Development. His responsibilities include instructing CDL permit preparation, CDL theory, and CDL road and range courses. Willy began his driving career hauling asphalt, sand, and gravel in 1990. In 1995, Willy transitioned into over-the-road truck driving. After 2 years over the road, Willy purchased his own truck and worked as an owner-operator for the next 12 years achieving the Iowa Motor Trucking Association’s Outstanding Professional Driver Award. Following his stint as an over-the-road driver, Willy shifted into trucking in the oil and gas industry. His experience included water trucking, heavy haul, and rig moves. In 2016, while employed at a hydraulic fracturing company, Willy transitioned into the in-house CDL instructor, while still maintaining heavy haul duties. Willy comes to Legacy with several million miles behind the wheel hauling a variety of loads and nearly 10 years of driver training experience in which he has had a great record of students receiving their CDLs upon completion.
